It has been reported in today's News-Enterprise that the late WIEL news director Ron Boone is to be inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame in April. Ron, as most of you know, passed away from a heart attack while shoveling snow for a Sunday School Super Bowl party Feb. 1, 2004. Ron spent 31 years in Hardin County not only reporting news for WIEL, but for WKMO, WSAC, WRZI, and WASE, as well. Ron has received numerous awards, many received posthumously, during his career.
Many thanks to the News-Enterprise's Erica Walsh for reporting on this upcoming event honoring Elizabethtown's beloved news leader.

Ron Boone was honored yesterday in Lexington as he was inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, I missed it, as I did not know when in April it would be. I didn't know until Judy (Boone) called me last night and told me what a thrill it was to accept the award on his behalf and to see former colleagues on hand for the ceremony. She also conveyed her appreciation for this website and the memories the images stir. She plans on sharing some photos and thoughts in the future.
Just wish I could have been there...
Thanks, Judy
