The buzz word, or phrase lately, has been Big Brown and does he have a date with destiny this weekend as he tries to achieve what has eluded thoroughbred racing for 30 years? Does he have the "stuff" in becoming the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978 and will he join Seattle Slew in performing that feat undefeated?
It's time to gather around the watercooler....

Looks like he was a big bust...it was like his blowhard trainer said, he only did great because he had no competition. Apparently there is a reason why we haven't had a Triple Crown winner in 30+ years. It's a grueling test for 3 yr. olds and there have only been 11 who have ever answered the challenge. ...and as soon as the tracks and racing commission reduce the maximum number of entries to, say, 12 at the most and raise the requirements to even be accepted to a Triple Crown race maybe we will see worthy and capable competition in the three classics. After all, twice before in 1892 and 1905 there was only a field of 3....of course that was before the Triple Crown. ...on to next year!
